When you hand over the care of a beloved pet, trust matters.
That’s one reason local pet owners have come to appreciate people like Chris, a member of the team at Top Dog Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Service who has spent the past two years helping care for pets across the community.
As part of the company’s “Meet The Pack Monday” series, owner Shannon McKinzie recently highlighted Chris and the unique path that led her to a career working with animals.
A lifelong animal lover, Chris has shared her home with dogs, cats, rabbits, and parakeets over the years. Today, she’s a proud cat mom to Thaddeus and enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, and hunting for vintage children’s books through her online business.
Her background extends far beyond pet care. Chris earned degrees in History and Spanish, later completed a master’s degree at New Mexico State University, and worked in museums before pursuing her current interests. She has also volunteered to help individuals with disabilities enjoy horseback riding experiences.
While her résumé is diverse, McKinzie says what stands out most is the kindness and compassion Chris brings to every pet and family she serves.
