Benbrook residents are waking up to a blustery Friday as a Wind Advisory remains in effect through midday across much of North Texas, including our area.
According to the US National Weather Service in Fort Worth, Texas, strong northwest winds are expected throughout the morning, with sustained speeds between 15 and 25 mph and gusts up to 40 mph.
Behind a passing cold front, the air is cooler, drier, and much windier than usual. That combination increases the risk of grass and brush fires, especially in the afternoon. Officials urge residents to secure lightweight outdoor items, avoid outdoor burning, and use extra caution with anything that could spark a fire.
High temperatures will stay mild, hovering in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees, but the wind will make it feel cooler and more unsettled than it looks outside.
