If you’ve been looking for a new way to connect with others in Benbrook, a weekly Mahjong gathering is about to join the calendar.
Beginning Tuesday, August 4, Benbrook Tea & Wellness will host Benbrook MAHJ, a weekly American Mahjong open play night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The evenings are designed for players who already have a basic understanding of American Mahjong. No instruction will be provided, so participants should bring their current National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) card and be ready for friendly competition and conversation.
There is no fee to play. Guests are simply asked to support Benbrook Tea & Wellness by purchasing a drink, snack, or other item during their visit.
Organizers note this is the group’s first time hosting the event and ask attendees for a little patience as the gathering gets underway. Seating and table space may be limited initially, but the goal is to grow the group and create a welcoming place for Mahjong enthusiasts to build new friendships.
Benbrook Tea & Wellness invites everyone who loves the game to pull up a chair, enjoy an evening of Mahjong, and become part of a new weekly tradition.
