Repeated roadway damage at RM 2871 and Rolling Hills Drive near HighRidge Church has Benbrook residents calling for a permanent fix, with one driver reporting that the damaged pavement caused a wheel to come off their vehicle.
The trouble spot affects drivers turning right onto Rolling Hills Drive toward Trail Ridge Estates and neighborhoods surrounding Whitestone Golf Course.
Residents say large construction trucks making wide turns have repeatedly damaged the pavement, forcing motorists to navigate an uneven corner while watching for vehicles turning onto RM 2871.
One resident reported that the damage caused a wheel to come off their vehicle last March, breaking the wheel hub. Others say previous repairs haven’t held up under continued truck traffic.
A Trail Ridge Estates resident raised the issue through a family member who works for a Tarrant County commissioner, who plans to relay the concerns to the county’s Roads and Grounds supervisor.
While residents believe the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is responsible for repairs, jurisdiction over the specific corner has not been confirmed.
For neighbors who regularly travel this route, the hope is for a lasting fix rather than another temporary patch.
