TCU Addresses Turning Point USA Event Controversy.

Reports claiming Texas Christian University canceled a Turning Point USA event sparked statewide attention this week, drawing comments from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and others. However, university officials say the event was never officially scheduled on campus.

The discussion began after activist Chloe Cole, who was scheduled to speak at the October 7 event, stated that the university had denied her group’s room request despite available space. The event was later moved to Birchman Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

In response, TCU clarified that the student chapter’s request for a venue accommodating 700 to 1,000 people came too late, as the space had already been reserved for another student event. The university stated that it offered to help find an alternative date or location.

The story gained traction online, with state leaders calling for further review. TCU emphasized that it had successfully hosted a separate Turning Point USA event earlier in the year and reiterated that no cancellation had occurred, as no booking had been confirmed.
