RM 2871 Construction Slows Traffic Near I-20.

Drivers heading west of Benbrook may want to give themselves extra time or find another route.

Construction appears to be underway along RM 2871 between Aledo Road and I-20, near the Edged Data Center project. Drivers in the area Thursday have reported traffic being reduced to one lane at points, with crews alternating traffic through the work zone.

The lane restrictions are causing backups in both directions, particularly as vehicles wait their turn to pass through the narrowed roadway.

Residents who regularly use RM 2871 to reach I-20, Aledo Road, or areas west of the city may save time by avoiding the stretch until traffic clears.
