A warning is making the rounds among Benbrook residents after reports of an individual allegedly posing as a pest control representative in a neighborhood near Benbrook Elementary.
According to residents, a man driving a white pickup with a camper shell has been going door-to-door claiming to represent Moxie Pest Control. Community members familiar with the company say legitimate Moxie vehicles are clearly marked with company branding and license information, and employees typically wear company uniforms.
One resident whose spouse works for Moxie Pest Control said the description did not match the company’s vehicles or operating procedures and urged homeowners to use caution.
Others reported encounters with individuals claiming to work for a pest control company while going door-to-door on foot. In one instance, a resident said local police were contacted after the interaction.
While the claims have not been independently verified, residents are encouraging neighbors to be cautious before allowing anyone to perform services at their home. Experts recommend asking to see identification, verifying licensing information, and contacting a company directly before agreeing to any service.
As always, if something doesn’t seem right, taking a few extra minutes to verify credentials can go a long way toward protecting your home and family.
