Residents Rally to Preserve Benbrook’s Robot and Castle Park History.

As demolition plans move forward for Robot Park and Castle Park to make way for a new, modernized version of both parks, many Benbrook residents are speaking up, hoping to preserve parts of the parks that have meant a lot to generations of families.

Resident Megan Brown recently urged neighbors to take action, encouraging residents to email city leadership rather than only posting on social media.

She vigorously championed that community change happens when voices show up directly and consistently. Past local issues, she noted, gained traction only after residents reached out via email and formal channels.

Residents with experience in law, municipal policy, or liability issues are being encouraged to step forward and help navigate possible solutions. Others are invited to share ideas for how the current robot could live on in a new form as part of the redesigned park or a city landmark.

Those who want to contact city leadership can email the following:

As plans for a modernized park take shape, this moment has become about more than playground equipment. For many, it is about honoring shared history and making sure community voices are part of what comes next.
