New Development Behind Benbrook Walmart on Hold.

If you’ve noticed land being cleared behind Walmart off Vista Way, you’re not alone.

Curious residents have been asking what’s going on behind the apartments, and the answer is simple: another apartment complex was planned but is now on pause.

The holdup? The proposed site only allows for a single entry and exit, which doesn’t meet the safety requirements for multi-family housing. For now, the project is stalled until a second access point is secured.

For those still curious, the Benbrook Economic Development Department is open to sharing updates on projects like this. Just give them a call and see what they can tell you.
