Cougar Pride Shines as Five Leonard Students Earn District Band Honors.

From the streets of Western Hills to the band room at Leonard Middle School, the Cougar community has plenty to celebrate this week!

Western Hills High School’s Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally brought students, staff, and supporters together Wednesday to celebrate Cougar pride. The Cougar Band thanked everyone who helped make the festivities possible.

Meanwhile, five Leonard Middle School musicians earned spots in the FWISD All-District Band Honor Ensemble following auditions Wednesday.

Congratulations to Nataly Fuentes (9th chair flute), Genesis Esqueda (11th chair B-flat clarinet), Smart Johnson (14th chair B-flat clarinet), Jordan Toudji (8th chair trumpet), and Dominic Murillo (3rd chair euphonium).

And there’s more music ahead! The Western Hills Cougar Band performs Friday at 6:35 p.m., ahead of the Cougars’ football game. Fans are encouraged to arrive early and show their support.
