For families who could use a little help keeping food on the table this month, several community organizations are bringing food assistance closer to home.
Mobile food pantry distributions are scheduled throughout September at churches, schools and community centers across northwest Tarrant County. The calendar includes stops in Fort Worth, Saginaw and nearby communities, giving Benbrook-area residents additional options if they are willing to make the drive.
Upcoming distributions include:
- Sept. 10: Lighthouse Fellowship, 5 to 7 p.m., 7200 Robertson Road
- Sept. 11: United Community Wesley Center, 9 a.m. to noon, 3600 N. Crump St.
- Sept. 14: Blue Mound Food Pantry, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 301 S. Blue Mound Road
- Sept. 15: St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 8:30 to 11 a.m., 5508 Black Oak Lane
- Sept. 16: Glenview Baptist Church, 5 to 7 p.m., 4805 NE Loop 820
- Sept. 18: Tarrant County College, 8:30 to 11 a.m., 4801 Marine Creek Parkway
- Sept. 21: Blue Mound Food Pantry, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sept. 22: St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 8:30 to 11 a.m.
- Sept. 25: United Community Wesley Center, 9 a.m. to noon
- Sept. 26: United Community Wesley Center, 8 to 10 a.m.
- Sept. 28: Blue Mound Food Pantry, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sept. 29: St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 8:30 to 11 a.m.
Families can also search for additional food assistance through the Tarrant Area Food Bank’s Find Food tool.
Community Link Mission also offers assistance by appointment Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon at 817-847-4554. Community Storehouse, located at 12001 Katy Road in Fort Worth, is available Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 817-431-3340.
Schedules can change, so residents may want to call ahead before making the trip.
