A Texas Department of Public Safety report revealed that Marine 1st Lt. Connor McKim, 25, had a blood alcohol content of .261—over three times the legal limit—when he caused a fatal wrong-way crash in November 2023.
McKim was driving 83 mph in a 70 mph zone when his pickup truck veered into the southbound lanes of U.S. 281 in Blanco County, colliding head-on with an SUV carrying the Muckleroy family of Fort Worth while they were en route to a Thanksgiving celebration.
Zach Muckleroy, 44, his 12-year-old son Judson, and 9-year-old daughter Lindsay were killed. Lauren Muckleroy, who was driving, survived with serious injuries, including broken bones and an intestinal tear. McKim also died in the crash.
