With the volleyball playoffs just a day away, the Benbrook Lady Bobcats gave their home crowd plenty to cheer about Tuesday night, sweeping Arlington Heights in three sets while Samantha Lindsey reached a historic program milestone.
The two teams had split their previous meetings, setting up a third showdown at Benbrook Middle-High School. This time, the Lady Bobcats came out determined to settle the score before beginning their postseason run.
The opening set lived up to expectations, with multiple lead changes, ties, and timeouts. Trailing 19-15, the Lady Bobcats defensively swung the momentum their way at 18-19 to rally and steal a 25-22 victory.

The Lady Bobcats carried that momentum into the second set, overcoming an Arlington Heights run to pull away for a convincing 25-14 win.
But the Lady Yellowjackets weren’t finished. Heights jumped ahead 5-2 in the third before Lindsey delivered a timely kill to help Benbrook regain its footing.

Later, a defensive play by Cousins and O’Neill sparked the Lady Bobcats at 12-10, helping them maintain control and complete the sweep, 25-18.

The night also belonged to Lindsey, who became the first player in Lady Bobcats volleyball history to surpass both 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs, an impressive milestone heading into postseason competition.

Benbrook now turns its attention to Burkburnett, with the Lady Bobcats scheduled to face the Lady Bulldogs on Wednesday, October 28, at 8 p.m. in Chico, Texas.

Three sets, a home-court sweep, and a place in the record books. Not a bad way for the Lady Bobcats to head into the playoffs.
