The Lady Bobcats Soccer team hit the road to Baytown, Texas, for the 3-day Goose Creek Memorial Girls Soccer Kick-Off Classic and delivered a series of impressive performances, proving their grit and skill on the field.
The tournament started strong for Benbrook with a 2-0 victory over North Shore, thanks to two goals from Grace Klaerner, assisted by Sydney Chavez. Defensive powerhouses Jessica Anzaldua and Kira Cleveland, along with goalkeepers Avery Bates and Arianna Labue, held the opposing team scoreless in a solid team effort.
Later in the day, the Lady Bobcats edged past Crosby with a 1-0 win, maintaining their dominance and wrapping up Day 1 with a perfect 2-0 record.
Earlier today, the Lady Bobcats faced CE King and continued their winning streak with a 2-0 triumph, securing first place in their bracket. The victory showcased Benbrookโs well-rounded play and set the stage for their final match against the Goose Creek Memorial Patriots.
However, the last game proved challenging. Despite a determined effort, the Lady Bobcats fell 3-0 to the Patriots after a sluggish first half. While the loss was disappointing, the tournament highlighted the teamโs incredible talent and potential for the season ahead.
Time to regroup, recover, and focus on the next challenge!
