On a clear home night that felt made for soccer, the Benbrook Lady Bobcats played like a team with something to protect.
Entering the match at 13-3-1 overall and unbeaten in district, the Lady Bobcats wasted little time against Southwest Lady Raiders.
The Lady Bobcats scored within minutes, added another soon after, hitting repeat a few more times and never eased up on their way to an 8-0 win.

From start to finish, the Lady Bobcats controlled possession and pace. At times, Southwest struggled to move the ball past midfield as the Lady Bobcats turned the game into a clinic on passing and movement.
Sydney Chavez led the charge with three goals and two assists. Lily Chavez added two goals of her own, including an air-bending shot of a goal. Eleanor Vazquez, Randee Slater, and Lily Carias each found the net. Vazquez and Grace Klaerner contributed assists to keep the offense flowing.

With the win, the Lady Bobcats improve to 14-3-1 overall and 9-0 in district, holding first place.
Next up is a crosstown rivalry match at Western Hills on Friday night. The game will also highlight Women in Sports, making it more than just another district contest.
Whether you wear your gold and green for the Cougars or Bobcats, it is a chance for the community to show up and support local athletes competing at a high level.
