The Benbrook Lady Bobcats have weathered a tough stretch after opening the season with promise.
Following a decisive 48-32 win over Castleberry, Thanksgiving week brought a string of challenges. The team entered tournament play hoping to build momentum, but instead dropped four straight games. During that run, opponents averaged 60 points while the Lady Bobcats managed 25, a gap that highlighted struggles on both ends of the floor.
But resilience showed up when the team needed it most. Two days before Thanksgiving, the Lady Bobcats clawed out a hard-fought 47-41 win over Lake Worth, snapping their losing streak and evening their record at 4-4. It was the kind of win that reminds a young team what it is capable of.
Benbrook now returns home to face the Boyd Lady Yellowjackets on Tuesday, December 2, hoping to build on that spark and reset the tone for the season.
