After 40 years, Arlington-based Christian radio station 94.9 FM KLTY will end its broadcasts on January 31.
It will transition to the K-LOVE network under the new owner, Educational Media Foundation (EMF). This move follows Salem Media Group’s sale of KLTY and six other stations to EMF in December as part of a debt-reduction strategy.
KLTY is known for its uplifting music and community events. Beginning February 1, the station will shift its programming to K-LOVE’s contemporary Christian format, featuring artists like Lauren Daigle and Chris Tomlin. The transition will include staff departures and format changes.
A farewell event is planned for January 25 at Compass Church Colleyville, with a final on-air tribute on January 31. Though KLTY’s era ends, its legacy of faith and inspiration remains.
