The Rail Steps Up to Serve Fort Worth’s Homeless During Winter Weather.

In response to harsh winter conditions, The Rail, a local live music venue in Fort Worth, continues its annual tradition of providing life-saving assistance to the homeless community.

As the owner, Chris Polone, says, this initiative began after “SNOVID 2021” and has become a vital resource for those in need when temperatures plummet and conditions become dangerous.

During cold weather events, The Rail opens its doors to offer shelter and supplies, while volunteers take to the streets to deliver essentials to those who need them most. Teams patrol the westside of Fort Worth, distributing blankets, food, water, and other critical supplies, as well as transporting individuals back to The Rail for warmth and safety.

Though The Rail is not a formal shelter, it plays a key role in serving the community by offering a safe haven during extreme weather. The venue’s owner, Chris Polone, encourages local residents to join the effort by donating essential items such as jackets, blankets, warm clothing, gloves, hand warmers, and hot meals. The Rail relies entirely on volunteers and community donations, and any contributions will be personally delivered to those in need.

If you’re interested in donating supplies or volunteering your time, The Rail can coordinate pickups or direct donations to its location at 3101 Joyce Drive, Fort Worth, TX (76116).

The Rail continues to monitor the weather and adjust plans accordingly. When the temperatures improve, any remaining supplies will be stored for future use.

The Rail remains committed to making a positive impact and saving lives through the community’s generosity.
