A silver Nissan Rogue collided with a Union Pacific train near West Vickery Boulevard Monday afternoon, October 12, prompting an emergency response and temporarily halting train traffic in the area.
According to dispatch information reported by CrimeRadar.app, the incident occurred shortly before 5 p.m. Officers coordinated with Union Pacific to stop train movements while crews responded to the crossing.
Preliminary reports suggest the driver may have attempted to cross the tracks ahead of the approaching train. There were also unconfirmed allegations of possible intoxication, although neither has been officially established as a factor in the crash.
Photos from the scene show the silver SUV with significant front-end damage beside a Union Pacific locomotive, with emergency personnel and bystanders nearby.
Authorities have not confirmed the driver’s condition, whether anyone was injured, or when train operations resumed.
