Judge Dismisses Former FWISD Principal’s Lawsuit.

A federal judge has dismissed Shayma Alzubi’s First Amendment lawsuit against Fort Worth ISD.

Alzubi sued after the district reassigned her shortly after she was named principal of Western Hills High School. She argued the district violated her free speech rights and discriminated against her because of her Muslim faith.

Judge Mark Pittman ruled the dispute did not rise to a constitutional violation. Alzubi remains employed by FWISD in a higher-paying administrative position, while CAIR says it will continue fighting for her return to a principal role.
