If you’ve spotted those I-20 West closure signs and are wondering what’s up, you’re not alone. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has kicked off the massive “Keep 20-30 Moving” project, impacting both I-20 and I-30. To help you steer clear of traffic jams, here’s a quick rundown of what to expect.
Key Closure Times:
- Weekdays: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Weeknights: 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Weekends: All-day closures possible on Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
Closures are subject to change based on weather and schedule.
Major Closures to Know:
- Eastbound I-20: Closed from the I-20/I-30 split to Markum Ranch Road from 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, March 8. The left lane of westbound I-20 will also be closed.
- Westbound I-20: Closed from Markum Ranch Road to the I-20/I-30 split from 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 to 6 a.m. on Sunday, March 9. Use I-30 and I-820 West Loop as detours.
- Daily Lane Closures: Expect single-lane closures on I-20 between Bentley Drive and Walsh Ranch Parkway from March 10 to March 14, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge work.
- Shoulder Closures and Trucks: Watch for shoulder closures and haul trucks entering main lanes—stay alert!
