Freezing Fog and Bitter Cold Set to Complicate Wednesday Morning Commute.

โ€ข

Benbrook residents may want to slow things down tonight and into Wednesday morning.

Forecasters are warning that freezing fog is expected across much of North and Central Texas, including the greater Fort Worth area, creating slick spots and reduced visibility just as many head out early.

Lingering moisture from earlier precipitation is expected to refreeze overnight, and the added layer of freezing fog could leave light ice on roads, bridges, and elevated surfaces. That combination is likely to make the Wednesday morning commute especially hazardous.

Temperatures are set to drop well below freezing, with overnight lows falling into the teens and 20s across the region. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for western portions of Central Texas from midnight through 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, when wind chills could dip as low as 7 degrees.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution, allow extra travel time, and keep headlights on low beam in foggy conditions. If you can delay travel until conditions improve, it may be the safer choice.
