Benbrook emergency crews responded Monday evening to a devastating crash in the 8700 block of FM 1187 that left two people dead and several others injured.
The four-vehicle collision was reported just after 8 p.m., with one car catching fire upon impact. Authorities confirmed two fatalities at the scene, while two others were rushed away in critical condition, and two more suffered serious injuries. A medical helicopter landed nearby to assist with patient transport.
The Benbrook Fire Department, Fort Worth Fire/EMS, Parker County EMS, and CareFlight all joined forces to manage the chaotic scene. FM 1187, east of Whiskey Flats, was completely shut down as first responders worked the wreck and transported the victims.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area while the investigation is ongoing. Our thoughts are with the families and all those affected by this heartbreaking accident.
