There is something fitting about a Texas character being played by a local student who knows how to carry both confidence and heart. At Western Hills High School, that role belongs to Diego.
In the school’s upcoming production Scattered Writings, an original adaptation of Dracula, Diego steps into the role of Quincey Morris, a bold and loyal character who charges into danger to protect those he cares about.
It is a part that calls for both intensity and personality, and by all accounts, Diego brings both. His performance leans into the character’s courage while adding humor that keeps the audience engaged.
The production opens this weekend, with shows scheduled for May 9 and May 10 at 2:00 p.m. in the Western Hills High School auditorium. Doors open at 1:30 p.m., and admission is set at $5. The show runs about 50 minutes, making it an easy addition to a weekend that also includes Mother’s Day.
For those looking to support local students and enjoy a live performance, this is one of those opportunities that feels close to home in more ways than one.
