Business cards and handshakes were not the only things being exchanged this week at the latest Benbrook Business Exchange.
Hosted by VFW Post 10429, the weekly networking lunch brought together local business leaders, community members, and entrepreneurs for conversation and connection.
But this gathering also marked the launch of a new community effort, “Stick With Our Students,” a school-supply drive aimed at supporting local teachers and students ahead of the upcoming school year.
According to the Benbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, donations can be dropped off at future Business Exchange meetings or at the Chamber office.
The idea behind the drive reflects something many in Benbrook already believe: when schools and local businesses support each other, the entire community benefits.
As summer continues, organizers hope residents will help stock classrooms with supplies that teachers and students will need when school doors reopen this fall.
