Led by an imposing ground game and an unyielding defense, the Grandview Zebras controlled Friday night’s game against the Benbrook Bobcats.
Perhaps the most telling statistic of the game is the rushing yards differential. While Grandview could amass an incredible 338 yards on the ground, the Bobcats’ usually reliable rushing attack was only 85 yards. The Zebras dominated the line of scrimmage, controlling both the clock and the game’s tempo. Their running back trio was a constant threat, picking up large chunks of yardage and wearing down the Bobcats’ defense throughout the game.
Despite a few flashes of offensive potential, the Bobcats struggled to find consistency. Their passing game showed brief moments of success, but the lack of a reliable ground game and the pressure from the Zebras’ defense prevented them from sustaining drives.
In the second half, the Bobcats fought hard to keep the game within reach, but Grandview’s defense proved too formidable. The Zebras ultimately sealed the win with a couple of late touchdowns, running away with a score of 42-14.
The Bobcats will look to regroup after this tough loss, focusing on improving their rushing attack and defensive strategy as they prepare for their next matchup.
