The Benbrook Bobcats hit the road Tuesday night and walked out of South Hills with a convincing 69 to 49 victory, securing their third win of the season and their second straight. What started as a tight contest quickly turned into a statement game for a team finding its rhythm.

Senior guard Cael Denson set the tone early, slicing through defenders and knocking down shot after shot. His hot start pushed Benbrook to a 19 to 13 lead after the first quarter, giving the visiting crowd plenty to cheer about.

The second quarter brought a mix of sharp shooting and head-scratching turnovers from both sides. While Denson cooled off, senior guard Jayden Hall and the Bobcats’ bench stepped in to keep the offense moving. Benbrook held a steady 32- 24 lead at halftime.

Whatever was said in the locker room worked. The Bobcats came out in the third quarter firing, with Denson and senior guard Brennan Barton lighting it up. Barton was exceptionally steady from long range, knocking down four of six from deep. Tension sparked late in the quarter when a South Hills player fouled a Bobcat and stood over him, resulting in a double technical. Benbrook made two of the four free throws and kept complete control of the game, leading 56 to 39 heading into the final period.

Benbrook closed the night with confidence. Denson and Barton finished with 16 points each, sealing a decisive road win and giving the Bobcats momentum as they head into tournament play.

Next up is Godley on Thursday, December 4. Bobcat Nation can look forward to more details as tournament action gets underway.
