Benbrook residents will soon have the opportunity to weigh in on how the city plans to spend its funds in the coming year. The City Council will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2025-26 budget on Thursday, September 4, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 911 Winscott Road.
The proposed budget increases total property tax revenue by approximately $295,000, or 1.51 percent, compared to the previous year. Roughly $112,000 of that amount comes from new properties added to the tax roll.
Key spending areas include $14.2 million for public safety, $7.2 million for public services, and nearly $1.7 million for general government. Community development and staff services also see steady funding, while debt service decreases compared to the prior year. The overall proposed expenditures total $27.8 million, slightly below last yearโs $28 million.
Residents can review the full proposed budget at benbrook-tx.gov or access it directly at the City of Benbrook FY 2025-26 Proposed Budget PDF.
The hearing offers an opportunity for community members to share their views before the council finalizes the plan.
