What started as a simple afternoon at The Cake Ballerina turned into a glimpse of something deeper for a 9-year-old named Cornisha.

While making cake pops, her personality came through easily. She is creative, confident, and full of life. The kind of kid who enjoys being active, spending time with friends, and dreaming about what’s ahead.
But beyond the smiles and small moments, there is a bigger story. Cornisha is waiting for a family.
Her story, recently shared through WFAA’s Wednesday’s Child, is one of many that remind the community these needs are close to home. Kids like Cornisha are not just part of a system. They are part of this community, hoping for stability, care, and a sense of belonging.

Sometimes it only takes a small moment to see something meaningful. For Cornisha, the hope is simple. She is ready to have a family of her own.
