Prescribed Burn Happening Today at Fort Worth Nature Center.

If you’re headed near the Fort Worth Nature Center today, July 10, don’t be alarmed if you see smoke in the air.

A prescribed burn is underway in the mulched area between the Viewing Deck Parking Lot and the Hardwicke Interpretive Center.

This is a planned and controlled effort to manage vegetation and support the health of the ecosystem. Residents are asked not to call the fire department. If you’re driving through the area and notice smoke, slow down and use extra caution.

It’s all part of keeping the refuge thriving and safe for visitors and wildlife alike.
