For four days, TCU’s campus buzzed with the sound of brass as over 1,000 musicians gathered for the National Trumpet Competition (NTC) from March 13-16.
From high school prodigies to seasoned professionals, performers showcased their skills in solo and ensemble competitions, a military band audition, and a jazz showdown, with top winners taking home prize money.
TCU’s music faculty played a key role in hosting the event, leveraging the university’s top-tier performance spaces. As the competition wrapped up with an awards ceremony, organizers gave a special shoutout to TCU’s trumpet studio for their contributions.
