Western Hills Promotes Ayala to Lead Girls Soccer Program.

Western Hills High School is keeping its next girls’ soccer leader close to home.

The school recently announced Coach Joe Ayala as the new head coach of the Lady Cougars soccer program, continuing a long career dedicated to both athletics and student development.

Ayala spent 24 years serving in the United States Air Force before beginning his career in education. Over the past 15 years, he has worked closely with students, including 12 years coaching the JV girls soccer team at Western Hills.

School leaders say Ayala’s commitment to leadership, discipline, and mentorship made him a natural fit to lead the program into its next chapter.

In addition to coaching, Ayala holds a bachelor’s degree in management studies and is known around campus for investing in student-athletes both on and off the field.

For the Cougar community, the hire represents a familiar face stepping into a larger role with relationships and roots already built inside the program.
