Confidence, awareness, and practical safety skills are at the heart of a new women’s self-defense program launching in Benbrook this summer.
Panthers Judo and Self Defense will begin weekly classes on Tuesdays starting July 7 from 6:15 to 7 p.m. at 6024 Southwest Blvd. The program is designed to help women build confidence while learning real-world techniques they can apply in everyday situations.
Participants will learn situational awareness, how to escape common grabs and holds, basic striking and defensive movements, ground defense fundamentals, and personal safety skills.
Classes are intentionally kept small, with enrollment limited to eight participants per session, allowing for more personalized instruction and hands-on learning.
The program is led by Ralph Lahoud, a fifth-degree black belt and USA and USJA national coach.
Sessions are available for $60 each or $200 for a prepaid four-session package. For more information or to register, visit https://www.panthersjudo.com or call 817-475-5721.
Learning self-defense is about more than physical techniques. For many women, it’s also about gaining confidence, awareness, and peace of mind in everyday life.
