Traffic Signal Issues Along U.S. 377 South of Benbrook.

โ€ข

Friday evening’s commute turned into a frustrating one for many drivers as traffic backed up near the intersection of U.S. Highway 377 and FM 1187.

Several motorists have reported that the traffic signal appeared to be short cycling, causing congestion that stretched north toward the Benbrook area, with one driver saying traffic was backed up as far as the post office.

It’s worth noting that the intersection is not within the City of Benbrook but is located several miles south in unincorporated Tarrant County, meaning the signal is owned and maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation, not the City of Benbrook.

This discussion has also sparked concerns about other traffic signals along U.S. 377, including Team Ranch Road and Cook Ranch Road, where some drivers say green lights for highway traffic change too quickly when vehicles are waiting on side streets.

If you experience issues with traffic signals on state highways, TxDOT recommends reporting them directly. Traffic signal concerns can be submitted through the agency’s online reporting system at TxDOT Customer Service Center or by calling 1-800-558-9368.

As always, if you’re traveling through the area, allow extra time and drive with caution when traffic is backed up.
