A public meeting about the future of Farrington Field is drawing attention across Fort Worth, but not necessarily for the reasons district leaders hoped.
Fort Worth ISD scheduled a public input meeting for Wednesday, May 20, at 5 p.m. in the district board room, inviting residents to share ideas and feedback regarding the future of the historic stadium and surrounding property.
According to the district flyer, community members could participate by speaking in person, submitting written comments, or joining via livestream.
But critics say details on how to actually participate remotely were difficult to find.
FWISD Watchdog, a local district accountability page, raised concerns online this week, questioning both the process’s transparency and whether decisions regarding the property may already have been made behind closed doors.
The group also pointed to the value of the Farrington Field property, calling it one of the most valuable pieces of land owned by Fort Worth ISD, while criticizing what they described as limited public communication ahead of the meeting.
As of Wednesday, some residents continued searching for clearer instructions on where to watch online or how to submit comments remotely through Fort Worth ISD.
Farrington Field has long been more than just a stadium for many Fort Worth families. For decades, it has hosted football games, graduations, band competitions, and community memories tied to generations of students across the district.
Now, with conversations about its future gaining momentum, many residents simply want a chance to understand what comes next before any final decisions are made.
