Fort Worth ISD has officially opened its search for a permanent superintendent. The district plans to have the new leader in place by the start of the 2025-26 school year.
The job posting, released on January 23, outlines the district’s expectations for candidates. It emphasizes proven leadership and a commitment to improving student outcomes.
Key qualifications include at least five years of leadership experience in a district with over 50,000 students, a background as a school principal, and expertise in Texas education law, finance, and curriculum. A master’s degree is required, while a doctorate and a valid Texas superintendent’s certificate are preferred.
The job posting will remain active for 10 days, after which the school board will begin reviewing applications. Unlike previous searches, this process is being handled internally by the district’s HR department rather than an external firm.
