It was a long afternoon for the Lady Bobcats.

After falling to Boyd earlier in the day, Benbrook returned to the field to face the Brock Lady Eagles in their second tournament matchup.

The Lady Eagles came out swinging red-hot bats and never let up, scoring 10 runs in the first inning and nine more in the second while holding the Lady Bobcats scoreless.

For the Lady Bobcats, Natalya Muzquiz took the loss, working two innings and recording four strikeouts.

Despite the 19 to 0 final, Madison Canada provided a bright spot at the plate, going 1 for 1 to lead Benbrook in hits.

The Lady Bobcats now sit at 3-5 on the season. They will look to regroup quickly, with two more games ahead on Friday, facing Springtown at 2:15 p.m. and Weatherford at 5:45 p.m., both at Brock High School.

Tournament play can test a team’s depth and resilience. For the Lady Bobcats, the next opportunity to respond is to leave this day behind and embrace a fresh, new day ahead.
