The Lady Bobcats just wrapped up their first tournament game of the day, falling to Boyd 17-4 in a fast-paced morning matchup.
The Lady Bobcats came out swinging. Maddy Davila helped push across the first run, giving the Lady Bobcats an early lead and some energy to start the day. But the Lady Yellowjackets of Boyd answered quickly and built a cushion by the third inning.
Mya Vasquez delivered one of the highlights of the morning, going 2 for 3 at the plate and blasting her first home run of the season to left field. Madison Canada added a solo home run to center in the fourth, and Natalya Muzquiz drove in a run on a groundout.
Muzquiz and Vasquez each collected two hits, with Vasquez, Davila, and Canada accounting for the team’s RBIs.
Canada started in the circle and struck out four over three and two-thirds innings.
Now, with only a short break to regroup, the Lady Bobcats shift their focus to the 4 p.m. matchup against Brock. Tournament days move quickly, and the opportunity to bounce back is just hours away.
