Lady Bobcats Hoops Pull Away Early, Cruise Past Dunbar in District Win.

The Benbrook Lady Bobcats Basketball took care of business Friday night at Billingsley Fieldhouse, rolling past the Dunbar Lady Wildcats Basketball 48-20 in district play.

The game opened with both teams pressing and trading turnovers, but once Dunbar scored first, Benbrook settled in quickly. By the end of the first quarter, the Lady Bobcats had built a 9-4 lead and never gave it back.

Grace Klaerner, juggling both soccer (and scoring!) and basketball on the same day, found her rhythm early. She sparked the offense with confident shooting as Benbrook stretched the lead to 21-7 by halftime.

The third quarter brought the moment of the night when Klaerner buried a deep three off an inbound play that brought the bench to its feet. Benbrook closed the quarter ahead 40-15, putting the game firmly out of reach.

The fourth quarter was all about composure as the Lady Bobcats finished strong and secured the win. Benbrook improves to 8-17 overall and 4-2 in district play, currently sitting third in the district standings.

Next up, the Lady Bobcats host Diamond Hill Jarvis on Tuesday at 6 pm.
