Waldrop Investigation Moves From Civil Disputes to Criminal Case

After years of lawsuits, liens and construction disputes surrounding Corey Waldrop and Trinity Design & Build, Part 3B of investigative writer Zee Wilcox’s series follows the point where law enforcement began tracing the money.

The investigation centers on Scott and Yuko Fagan’s Weatherford home.

According to a Parker County probable-cause affidavit cited by Wilcox, the couple contracted with Trinity in May 2022 to build the home for $964,185.97. Scott Fagan told investigators he paid every requested draw, ultimately paying more than $1 million, while several subcontractors and suppliers allegedly remained unpaid.

The affidavit alleges $85,256.21 was owed to subcontractors and another $20,820.29 was paid for materials that were never provided, for a combined $106,076.50. Investigator Terry McDowell also reported tracing construction funds from Trinity business accounts into Waldrop’s personal accounts.

Those findings led to a March 2025 arrest warrant for Waldrop on a third-degree felony theft allegation. Wilcox reports that additional complaints followed, and a Parker County grand jury indicted Waldrop in October 2025 on felony allegations involving theft and misappropriation of funds.

Waldrop has maintained his innocence and denied improperly using business funds for personal expenses. An indictment is a formal accusation, not a conviction, and Wilcox says she has not located a final public disposition establishing guilt or acquittal.

Meanwhile, the Fagans and Trinity continue to tell sharply different stories about the same home. Trinity sued the couple for $101,698.50 and sought to foreclose its mechanic’s lien. The Fagans later alleged in federal court that Trinity actually owed them $60,005.43.

That collision of criminal allegations, bankruptcy proceedings and competing civil claims is at the heart of Wilcox’s latest report. What began as another construction dispute became something much larger, while the courts still have to determine what can ultimately be proven.
