Less than two days after a stalled train brought rush hour to a standstill at Aledo Road and RM 2871, it happened again.
This time, the delay was shorter. Around 1:45 p.m., another train came to a stop at the same Benbrook crossing, blocking traffic in both directions. Thankfully, the afternoon slowdown only lasted about 15 minutes before the train cleared the tracks and traffic resumed.
While not as disruptive as the earlier incident, it still raised eyebrows among drivers who remembered sitting in place during the weekday rush with no idea how long they’d be stuck.
If you regularly travel through that intersection, it might be time to start considering a backup route, just in case this becomes a recurring issue.
