Wet roads made for a rough start along Lakeside Drive this morning.
Just after 8:30 a.m., Benbrook emergency crews responded to a rollover crash near the Longhorn Park entrance, where a vehicle that appeared to be a truck had landed on its side in a curve.
According to information gathered by CrimeRadar.app from public emergency dispatch traffic, slick roads and rainy conditions were reported as possible factors in the crash. Dispatch traffic also indicated an off-duty officer was involved and did not require medical attention. EMS was canceled, while fire personnel remained at the scene as a tow truck was requested.
Traffic was temporarily reduced to one lane through the area. By 10 a.m., vehicles were moving normally again.
With rain leaving area roads slick, drivers traveling Lakeside Drive and other winding roads around Benbrook should allow a little extra room and take the curves more slowly than usual.
This is a developing story, and we will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
