- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon water

For serving
- 4 eggs, fried sunny-side-up
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
- Scallions, sliced
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the beef

In a medium bowl, combine the beef slices with soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and minced garlic. Mix well to ensure the beef is evenly coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 20 minutes while you prepare the other components.
Step 2: Cook the vegetables

In a large pan over medium heat, lightly oil and quickly sauté each vegetable separately until just tender, seasoning with a pinch of salt. Begin with the carrots, followed by zucchini, then mushrooms, spinach, and lastly bean sprouts. Set aside each vegetable as you finish.
Step 3: Cook the marinated beef

In the same pan, increase the heat to high and add the marinated beef. Stir-fry quickly until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 4: Prepare the rice

In a large bowl, mix the cooked rice with sesame oil and a pinch of salt to taste. Make sure the rice is warm to complement the dish.
Step 5: Prepare the gochujang sauce

In a small bowl, mix together gochujang, sesame oil, sugar, water, and vinegar until smooth and well combined. Adjust the spice level according to your preference.
Step 6: Assemble the bibimbap

Divide the seasoned rice among four bowls. Arrange the cooked vegetables and beef attractively on top of the rice. Place a sunny-side-up egg in the center of each bowl, and drizzle with a spoonful of the gochujang sauce.
Step 7: Garnish and serve

Sprinkle sesame seeds and sliced scallions over each bowl for garnish. Serve immediately, encouraging diners to mix everything together before enjoying.
💡 Chef’s Tips
- For added depth of flavor, use a variety of mushrooms such as enoki or oyster alongside shiitake.
- Adjust the spice level of the gochujang sauce by adding more sugar or water if you prefer a milder taste.
- Feel free to substitute the beef with other proteins like chicken, tofu, or tempeh for a different variation.
- To enhance the presentation, use a rainbow of vegetables for a visually appealing bowl.
