Another day, another downpour—another round of canceled games.
The Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball Association (BYBSA) has officially called off all games tonight and closed the fields after today’s relentless rain, continuing a soggy saga that’s put nearly half the season on pause.
For those just catching up, this spring has been anything but smooth for Benbrook’s youth leagues. Between Opening Day and now, the unusually wet weather has drenched schedules, frustrated families, and left players itching to get back on the field.
Social media is buzzing with parents, coaches, and players expressing their concerns and voicing frustrations—not just toward BYBSA, but also toward the City of Benbrook, which manages the fields and has the final say on closures. With tensions rising, BYBSA is encouraging the community to share feedback through its mid-season survey, which goes straight to city officials.
Until the skies clear, all anyone can really do is wait it out, cross their fingers for a dry spell, and hope for a few makeup games before the season officially runs out.
