Primary Runoff Election Nears as Texans Prepare to Vote Again.

Another round of voting is around the corner in Texas, and local residents are being encouraged not to sit this one out.

Early voting for the Texas Primary Election Runoff begins Monday, May 18, and runs through Friday, May 22, with Election Day set for Tuesday, May 26.

Community members are reminding friends, family, and neighbors that every vote still matters, especially in runoff races where turnout is often lower and margins can be tight.

For voters wondering whether it is worth showing up again, organizers say the answer is simple: every Texan has races on the ballot, and candidates within the same party can still bring different priorities, experience, and leadership styles to the table.

There is also an important reminder for anyone who voted in the March primary. Texas law requires voters to participate in the same party’s runoff election. However, residents who did not vote in March are still eligible to vote in the runoff.

As conversations around civic engagement continue statewide, local leaders hope more residents make voting a regular habit rather than a once-every-four-years event.
