Behind every successful school year are countless people who quietly give their time to help students succeed.
Fort Worth ISD recently recognized the volunteers and community partners who supported schools throughout the 2025-26 academic year, thanking them for their impact across the district.
According to FWISD, nearly 11,000 volunteers contributed an impressive 136,598 hours of service to students, teachers, staff, and families. From classroom assistance and campus events to mentoring and encouragement, those efforts helped strengthen schools across the district, including campuses serving the Benbrook community.
As one school year comes to a close, district leaders are already looking ahead to the next. FWISD is reminding volunteers that all approved volunteer statuses expire on June 30, 2026.
Beginning July 1, returning volunteers can renew their status by completing a new application through the district’s volunteer system. Applications are typically processed within two days, although approval times may vary based on demand.
Residents interested in volunteering during the 2026-27 school year can apply through the district’s volunteer portal at FWISD Volunteer Application.
For thousands of students across Fort Worth ISD, the difference a volunteer makes often starts with something simple: showing up. This year’s numbers show just how many people chose to do exactly that.
