It has been a challenging start for Western Hills volleyball, but under new head coach Rhea Whitefield, the Lady Cougars are working to lay the foundation and establish a winning culture.
Tonight brings another opportunity.
Western Hills heads south to Waco to face the Waco Lady Lions in a matchup between two teams hungry for a win. The Lady Cougars enter at 1-13, while Waco is 0-15 and still searching for its first victory of the season.
For Western Hills, the match carries a little extra importance. It is the Lady Cougars’ final tune-up before district play begins Sept. 8 against the Dunbar Lady Wildcats.
A win in Waco would be a welcome one, but with district play around the corner, tonight is also another chance for Whitefield and the Lady Cougars to keep building toward the team they want to become.
