FORT WORTH, TX – Trailblazing leader Kay Granger has been named Fort Worth Inc.’s 2025 Person of the Year, honoring her decades-long impact on the city’s economic growth, business landscape, and national influence.
As the first Republican woman to represent Texas in Congress and Fort Worth’s first female mayor, Granger has championed policies that fueled the region’s rise—from infrastructure and defense to education and small business development.
Her leadership as chair of the House Appropriations Committee cemented Fort Worth’s status as a powerhouse for aerospace, defense, and commerce, driving investment and innovation across North Texas.
Granger, who retired from Congress on Jan. 3, leaves behind a legacy that rivals Texas political icons such as Jim Wright and Sam Rayburn.
