Science teacher Vanessa Adia of Benbrook Middle School has announced her candidacy to challenge Congresswoman Kay Granger for the District 12 seat in the 2019 elections.
A registered Democrat, Adia recently met with Wise County Democrats to discuss her concerns and frustrations with Granger’s leadership. She has spent years teaching in the district and wants to bring fresh perspectives, focusing on education, healthcare, and economic development.
As the election draws nearer, Adia aims to connect with voters across the district, hoping to offer an alternative to Granger’s long tenure in Congress.
