Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas) has revealed ongoing health challenges that have made frequent travel to Washington, D.C., difficult, but her office denies claims that she resides in a memory care facility.
In a statement to The Hill, the 81-year-old congresswoman expressed gratitude for the support she has received and reflected on her decades-long career serving Fort Worth as a city council member, mayor, and member of Congress.
Reports from The Dallas Express suggested Granger was living in a memory care facility, but her son, Brandon Granger, clarified that while she resides at Tradition Senior Living in Fort Worth, it is not a memory care facility. He acknowledged she has experienced “some dementia issues late in the year” but emphasized the vibrant and active community where she now lives.
Granger announced over a year ago that she would not seek reelection, encouraging the next generation to take on leadership roles in her district.
